The Savannah Savages's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 57-37 loss at the hands of Chillicothe. Savannah was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-12.
It was another big night for James Mathew, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks for Chillicothe. Mathew is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. Jackson Trout was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Savannah has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for Chillicothe, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
Savannah will take on King City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Savannah is facing King City at the right time seeing as King City is stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Chillicothe, they will head out on the road to square off against Lafayette at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
