After a string of ten wins, Mendon Unity's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Taylorville Tornadoes. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Tornadoes from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Taylorville had a senior duo take command as Molly Smith had six aces and three digs and Alayna Vincent had ten kills and seven digs. Vincent has been hot recently, having posted five or more kills the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brogan Anderson, who had ten digs and one assist.

Mendon Unity's defeat dropped their record down to 30-5. As for Taylorville, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-5 record this season.

Mendon Unity does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Taylorville, they are taking a road trip to square off against Highland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
