Even though the Bennett Tigers have not done well against The Pinnacle Timberwolves recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Bennett walked away with a 58-51 victory over The Pinnacle. The win made it back-to-back wins for Bennett.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bennett to victory, but perhaps none more so than Owen Stiers, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Francis, who scored 12 points.
Despite the defeat, The Pinnacle saw an underclassman step up: Caleb Arellano scored 20 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Yahir Chavira, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Even though they lost, The Pinnacle were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
The win got Bennett back to even at 3-3. As for The Pinnacle, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bennett will take on Lake County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Lake County is ranked 207th, while Bennett is ranked 204th). As for The Pinnacle, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Arrupe Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Arrupe Jesuit is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
