Basketball Recap: Excel Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Excel Christian Academy lost against Trinity Christian Academy back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Excel Christian Academy Eagles took a blow against the Trinity Christian Academy Warriors, falling 97-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (56), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Kaiden Ward and Tristen Hoskins certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Ward posted 21 points, while Hoskins had 17 points. Ward's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Mcknight, who scored eight points.

Leading Trinity Christian Academy to victory were Luke Nutt and Luke Rolen. Nutt went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc to rack up 24 points along with eight assists and five boards, while Rolen went 10 for 15 en route to 22 points in addition to eight assists and six rebounds. Rolen is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played. Landon Dyck was another key player, putting up 19 points and five rebounds.

Excel Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season.

Excel Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Harvest Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Harvest Christian Academy sitting on three straight victories and Trinity Christian Academy on 12.
