Softball Recap: Napa Has No Trouble Against Winters

Napa not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 19, 2024. They put the hurt on the Winters Warriors with a sharp 10-2 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Grizzlies needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Priscilla Morgado Rodriguez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She also put up six hits, which were her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Lauren Nicklas was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Izzi Chae, who scored three runs while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.

Napa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

With the victory, Napa broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4. As for Winters, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

Coming up, Napa will be playing at home against Redwood at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Winters, they are taking a road trip to challenge Gridley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
