Piney Woods has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Stringer Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Piney Woods will be strutting in after a victory while Stringer will be coming in after a loss.
Last Tuesday, Piney Woods didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Taylorsville, but they still walked away with a 42-38 victory.
Meanwhile, Stringer's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 71-38 loss at the hands of Leake County. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Stringer has suffered yet this season.
Piney Woods pushed their record up to 7-5 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Stringer, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.
Piney Woods came up short against Stringer in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, falling 46-34. Can Piney Woods avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
