Basketball Recap: Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter Takes a Loss

Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter lost against Covenant Christian back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter Raiders had to suffer through a 62-30 loss at the hands of the Covenant Christian Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Warriors are ranked 113th).

Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter's loss came despite strong showings from Lilly Butler and Zita Eke. Butler almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards, while Eke posted nine points and five rebounds. Butler has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Macie Dill was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Covenant Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Moriah Armstrong, who had 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Emma Crane, who put up four points in addition to ten boards and five steals.

Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Covenant Christian, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Monrovia the next time they take the court. Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter will host Monrovia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Covenant Christian will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
