Volleyball Recap: Hereford Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kaylee Alonzo and Kyndall Valdez

Hereford's tournament run continued when they took on Sulphur Springs on Thursday. The Whitefaces fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Whitefaces have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Hereford had strong showings from Kyndall Valdez, who had 11 digs and three aces, and Kaylee Alonzo, who had ten digs. Valdez has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Leading Sulphur Springs to victory were Peyton Taylor and Madison Jeter. Taylor had 11 digs and one assist, while Jeter had eight digs and one assist. That's the most digs Jeter has posted since back in September of 2024.

Hereford's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Sulphur Springs, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Hereford has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Peaster on the 21st. As for Sulphur Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Caddo Mills on the 21st.
