Roxboro Community and the Bobcats are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2019, but not for long. The Roxboro Community Bulldogs will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Eno River Bobcats at 6:00 p.m.
After a string of four wins, Roxboro Community's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost to Vance Charter on the road by a decisive 61-46 margin. The contest was a 24-24 toss-up at halftime, but Roxboro Community couldn't quite close it out.
Despite the defeat, Roxboro Community saw an underclassman step up: Karrie Obie dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Obie has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Katherine-kaey "katie" Mann was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, Eno River can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They breezed by Excelsior Classical Academy on the road to the tune of 46-2. The victory was nothing new for Eno River as they're now sitting on three straight.
Roxboro Community's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-6. As for Eno River, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Roxboro Community was able to grind out a solid win over the Bobcats when the teams last played last Thursday, winning 41-29. Will Roxboro Community repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
