Schoolcraft is a perfect 7-0 against Lawton since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Eagles will head out to challenge the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. Schoolcraft has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with six straight losses, while Lawton will come in with three straight victories.
Schoolcraft lost 13-3 to Mendon on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Lawton was able to grind out a solid win over Howardsville Christian on Monday, taking the game 8-4.
Aubri Conklin and Allison Murphy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Conklin struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Murphy pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Conklin went 3-for-4 with two runs, while Murphy went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Paityn Beam and Lily McCory did most of the damage at the plate: Beam went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while McCory went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those four hits gave McCory a new career-high. Gia Bridges was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Lawton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They are 5-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Lawton's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Schoolcraft, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-16.
Everything went Schoolcraft's way against Lawton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Schoolcraft made off with a 12-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
