I Sunrise - Southeast recap Oct. 23, 2012
Liberty extended the longest winning streak in I Sunrise - Southeast this week by beating Eldorado, 59-13. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Liberty took down the Sundevils 59-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Kevin Lucero and Dakota Brunger gave Coronado a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Lucero threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns, while Brunger ran for 176 yards. Lucero also contributed to the rushing game with 35 yards on the ground.
Romance Oliver was the best wideout in the league this week as Del Sol fell to Basic. Oliver tallied five receptions for 108 yards. Dominic Cochrane helped Del Sol's passing attack out by catching five balls for 58 yards.
Dylan Greer provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Dragons lost to the Wolves. He completed 13 passes for 227 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 29 yards.
Foothill's Drew Doxtator and Jordan Primo have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Doxtator has thrown for 1998 yards this season, while Primo, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 42 catches for 502 yards. Del Sol's Cameron Lamont leads the league in rushing yards with 1104.
The marquee game in I Sunrise - Southeast this week will be the clash between Richard Muraco's team and Basic. The Patriots enters the game ranked third in the state, while the Wolves ranks eighth.
Going into this week's game against Eldorado, the Falcons' Doxtator needs two passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
Justin Brown of the Vernon Brown's team is only 75 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 156 carries Brown has accumulated 925 yard this year.
Liberty led the league in scoring this week after putting up 59 points on the Sundevils.
