Last Tuesday, Desert Pines faced the Gaels in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Desert Pines was beaten by the Gaels 63-32. Desert Pines' loss continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Meanwhile, Liberty was the victim of a tough 73-49 defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs on Monday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Liberty in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost seven in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Alofa Eteuini, who scored 17 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Satsuki Bradley, who scored 12 points.
Desert Pines dropped their record down to 13-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-10.
Desert Pines was dealt a bruising 61-22 defeat at the hands of the Patriots in their previous meeting back in November of 2018. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Desert Pines was down 35-10.
