After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Owyhee, the Mammoth Huskies were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 51-36 victory over Silver Stage. The score was all tied up 25-25 at the break, but Mammoth was the (much) better team in the second half.
Tyler Jones was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 14 steals. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. Kaiam Trabulsi was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 6 steals.
Mammoth's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Silver Stage, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Mammoth's road trip will continue as they head out to face Pyramid Lake at 3:15 p.m. on December 9th. Pyramid Lake presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mammoth in their respective states (Pyramid Lake is ranked 40th in Nevada, while Mammoth is ranked 132nd in California). As for Silver Stage, they will head out on the road to face off against Coral Academy of Science - Reno at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
