On Saturday, The Linsly School needed a bit of extra time to put away Bellaire. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Big Reds. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cadets as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Alyssa Heath was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Macy Sustik, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Morgantown is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of St. Mary's Ryken. Morgantown skirted past St. Mary's Ryken 3-2.
MADISON WISMAN made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned runs off 11 hits. WISMAN was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
WISMAN wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was GRACE ROBINSON, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. ANNE ROBINSON also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Morgantown's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for The Linsly School, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
