Redwater and Atlanta are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. Redwater will be playing in front of their home fans against Atlanta at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Redwater is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Liberty-Eylau on Tuesday as Redwater made off with a 22-1 win. The Dragons have beaten the Leopards the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Leopards has come to flipping the script.
Addison Bruner made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Redwater let Kyndlee Clark and Laney Johnson run wild. Clark scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Johnson scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alivia Thompson, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, Atlanta never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over New Boston. Considering the Rabbits have won nine games by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Gabby Arredondo made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Arredondo was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Ella Garrett and Keirsten Underwood did most of the damage at the plate: Garrett went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Underwood went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Brylee Fiscus, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Redwater's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-12-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Atlanta, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-7-1.
Redwater skirted past Atlanta 6-4 in their previous matchup on March 4th. Does Redwater have another victory up their sleeve, or will Atlanta turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
