Freelance recap November 5, 2013
George School was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in Freelance. The Cougars defeated Newark Collegiate Academy 36-18 earlier in the week.
Chestnut Ridge moved up to 223 from 284 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lions were able to move up by besting Bedford 27-21.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, St. Joseph's Catholic Academy's Phillip Fenstermacker and Mike Jabco have proven to be a lethal combination. Fenstermacker has thrown for 813 yards this season, while Jabco has 28 catches for 439 yards. Chestnut Ridge's Matt Wiley leads the league in rushing yards with 725.
Max Shoemaker's team and the Bison played the most contested game in Freelance this week, with Max Shoemaker's team eventually emerging with a 27-21 victory.
