After a string of three wins, the Broome Centurions's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Travelers Rest, falling 75-46. Broome has struggled against Travelers Rest recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Broome had strong showings from Ja'Coreyun Broadus, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals, and Jaiden Thomas, who scored eight points along with two steals. Broadus has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Kamajay Brackett-Brannon was another key contributor, scoring two points along with two steals.
Broome's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Travelers Rest, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-10.
Broome will take on Blue Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Travelers Rest won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Carolina Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Carolina Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Travelers Rest is ranked 110th).
