The Shadow Creek Sharks waltzed into their matchup Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Alvin, posting a 54-22 win on the road. Given Shadow Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Alvin is ranked 799th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shadow Creek can attribute much of their success to Kyndall Drones, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Aaniyah Lankford, who scored eight points.
Shadow Creek is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season. As for Alvin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-18.
Shadow Creek will be playing in front of their home fans against Dawson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Alvin, they will head out on the road to face off against Alief Elsik at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alief Elsik is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
