The Booker T. Washington Wildcats''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by Choctawhatchee at home and fell 49-7. Booker T. Washington was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Jesse Winslette was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 135 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Choctawhatchee also got a significant boost from Jonathan Boyd, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 101 yards.
Choctawhatchee's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Jabori Weeks and his two sacks.
Booker T. Washington's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 4.3 points per game. As for Choctawhatchee, the win was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Booker T. Washington will look to defend their home field on October 27th against Pine Forest at 7:00 p.m. Pine Forest presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Booker T. Washington in Florida (Pine Forest is ranked 89th, while Booker T. Washington is ranked 399th). As for Choctawhatchee, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Walton Beach at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Fort Walton Beach is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
