Northwest Crossroads recap Oct. 9, 2012
Seth Gutwein of Munster ran for the longest rushing play in Northwest Crossroads this season against Lowell last week. Gutwein scampered for 60 yards on the play and finished with 98 on the day as his team lost to the Red Devils.
Hobart extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Morton, 35-13. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Brickies.
Hobart's Andrew Barras and Drey Devereaux have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Barras has thrown for 470 yards this season, while Devereaux, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has nine catches for 155 yards. Gutwein from Munster leads the league in rushing with 546 yards.
A big matchup in Northwest Crossroads this week will be when Andrean takes on Lowell. The Fighting 59ers are in second place, while the Red Devils are in fourth place.
Kankakee Valley took down Highland 41-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
