Jasper extended their losing streak  to five  on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They came up short against  the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns, falling  35-12.  Jasper's loss  came despite strong showings from  Major Armstrong and  Cash Womack.  Armstrong threw for 141 yards and one  touchdown on only 13 passes, while  Womack picked up 89 receiving yards and one  score. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 65 yards.
As for Hamshire-Fannett, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2. They have beaten Jasper the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Jasper has come to flipping the script.
 Hamshire-Fannett found their leader in sophomore  Dwayne Long, who picked up 127 receiving yards and one  TD. Those 127  receiving yards set a new season-high mark for  Long.
