Chavez was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Franklin work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-15, 19-25, 25-11.
Stagg's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Chavez, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.
Stagg took their win against Chavez in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stagg since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
