Flatonia hasn't had much luck against Ganado recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bulldogs will face off against the Indians at 6:00 p.m. Flatonia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Last Monday, Flatonia came up short against Weimar and fell 8-4.

Flatonia saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brynlee Zimmerman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Zimmerman is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Abbie Uzzell also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Ganado waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Comanches. The game was the first time the Indians have beaten the Comanches on their field since March 12, 2022.
Saylor Bures spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Raelynn Pena and Paisley Hajovsky did most of the damage at the plate: Pena went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs, while Hajovsky scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Laci Holt, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Ganado pushed their record up to 20-5-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Flatonia, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8-1.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Flatonia hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .395. However, it's not like Ganado struggles in that department as they've averaged .409. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Flatonia might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Ganado when the teams last played back in March. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
