Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Knightstown

Knightstown waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Wapahani Raiders as they made off with a 14-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Lanee Swindell was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with one home run and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adeline Hibbert, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Knightstown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .348 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Knightstown's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Wapahani, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Knightstown will head out to challenge Union City at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wapahani, they will venture away from home to take on South Adams at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
