The biggest upset of the week belonged to Wyalusing Valley Area, who took down 379th ranked North Penn, 27-15. Tim Ace ran for 110 yards in the win.
Athens extended the longest winning streak in Northern Tier - Large this week by beating Canton, 41-19. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Athens' dynamic duo of Troy Stivason and Ray McDougan proved tough for the Warriors to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Stivason threw for 173 yards and three touchdowns and McDougan had 120 yards receiving. Brad SAMPSON helped Athens' passing attack out by catching two balls for 42 yards.
Jed Wright was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 23 carries, he ran for 213 yards as Troy defeated Canton. Josh McClaren also contributed to the rushing game with 24 yards on the ground.
The Panthers' Taylor Hillson and Sam Bohnert have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hillson has thrown for 913 yards this season, while Bohnert, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 18 catches for 378 yards. Tyler Birdsall from the Wildcats leads the league in rushing with 840 yards.
A big matchup in Northern Tier - Large this week will be when the Rams take on Athens. Wyalusing Valley Area is in fifth place, while the Wildcats are in first place.
Wellsboro took down Montgomery 46-22 last week, the largest margin of any game.
