The Tonopah Valley Phoenix had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a rough 68-15 loss at the hands of Florence. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tonopah Valley in their matchups with Florence: they've now lost four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Florence to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keylee Scarbrough, who scored 13 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was E.C. Turk-Francis, who scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds.
Tonopah Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Florence, their win bumped their record up to 1-2.
Tonopah Valley will take on North Valley Christian Academy at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Florence, they will head out on the road to face off against Odyssey Institute at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Odyssey Institute is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
