HONEA PATH, S.C. - After six lead changes,
Belton-Honea Path (Honea Path, S.C.) took the lead for the win when
Anthony White ran for a touchdown with 6:00 to go in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat
Wren (Piedmont, S.C.) 63-46 on Saturday.
The Bears led 27-20 at halftime, but the Hurricanes regained the lead on a touchdown with 11:00 remaining in the third.
Belton-Honea Path saw its 7-point halftime lead decrease to five entering the fourth.
BHP got revenge for last year's 37-29 loss to Wren with the victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Wren, which notched a 54-3 victory over Walhalla in its previous outing. The loss ended Wren's two-game winning streak.
Belton-Honea Path (8-1) will play a AAA Region I game against Emerald next week, while Wren (6-3) will take on Palmetto also in a AAA Region I game.
