Riverbank extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-10. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Linden Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bruins have suffered since February 20, 2025.

Maya Guzman was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Guzman wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Audrey Richey, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI. Arizona Navarro also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
As for Linden, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games.
On Linden's side, Cambel Dunn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Olivia Fears was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mia Ortega, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
While Riverbank had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
