Chapman is 0-6 against Travelers Rest since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Chapman Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Travelers Rest Devildogs at 6:00 p.m. Chapman has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Chapman gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Carolina Academy 72-26 at home. Given Chapman's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Carolina Academy is ranked 212th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Krislyn Wilder, who scored 21 points along with eight assists and seven steals. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elliot Miller, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and six steals.
Meanwhile, Travelers Rest fought the good fight in their overtime game against Broome on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Centurions by a score of 46-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Travelers Rest has suffered yet this season.
Chapman's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 45 points. As for Travelers Rest, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
Chapman and Travelers Rest were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but Chapman came up empty-handed after a 40-39 loss. Can Chapman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
