Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Piqua). They strolled past the West Carrollton Pirates with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 55-41. This was payback for the Indians, who suffered a 48-25 defeat the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why West Carrollton lost, don't look at Cyd Thekid. Despite the final result, she went 13 of 27 en route to 24 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Stephanie Grandy, who went 8 of 20 on her way to 14 points.

Piqua's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for West Carrollton, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Piqua will take on Butler in a holiday battle at 7:15 p.m. on December 18th at. As for West Carrollton, they will take on Sidney at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sidney will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something West Carrollton surely won't give up without a fight.
