After flying high against the Michigan School for the Deaf Tartars last Tuesday, the More Academy Crusaders came back down to earth. More Academy received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 69-51 to Lapeer Lakers Homeschool. While losing is never fun, More Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 664th, while Lapeer Lakers Homeschool is ranked 167th).
Lapeer Lakers Homeschool got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Joshua Campbell out in front who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. John Hayse was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists and six rebounds.
More Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lapeer Lakers Homeschool, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
More Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Landmark Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Lapeer Lakers Homeschool will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Faith Christian at 6:30 p.m. on February 13th.
