The Umatilla Bulldogs can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Mount Dora 62-27 on the road. 62 seems to be a good number for Umatilla as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Umatilla found their leader in underclassman Herly Brutus, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Brutus is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Jadon Gibbs was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
The win (which was Umatilla's fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-3. As for Mount Dora, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Umatilla will take on South Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mount Dora, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Jordan Christian Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Jordan Christian Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mount Dora in Florida (Jordan Christian Prep is ranked 166th, while Mount Dora is ranked 611th).
