The St. Anne's-Belfield Saints came tearing into Tuesday's game with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past St. Christopher with points to spare, taking the game 73-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Chance Mallory was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Gabriel D?alessandro, who scored 16 points.
St. Anne's-Belfield pushed their record up to 19-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.8 points per game. As for St. Christopher's, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Anne's-Belfield will take on Fork Union Military Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Anne's-Belfield knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 22 games -- so hopefully Fork Union Military Academy likes a good challenge. As for St. Christopher's, they will head out on the road to challenge Trinity Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. Christopher's is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Trinity Episcopal in Virginia (St. Christopher's is ranked seventh, while Trinity Episcopal is ranked 49th).
