The Floyd Central Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Prestonsburg  77-72. Despite running the score up even higher than they did  on Saturday (61), Floyd Central still had to take the loss.
 When it comes to explaining why Floyd Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Dylan Boyd. Despite the final result, he  went 10 for 16 from beyond the arc en route to 34 points and 0 assists. That's the first time this season that  Boyd  scored 15 or more  points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Brody Buck, who  dropped  a double-double on 15 points and ten  rebounds.
 Floyd Central has  traveled a rocky road recently, as they've  lost six of their last seven matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Prestonsburg, the  win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Floyd Central won't have much time to rest: their next  game is against Phelps at 7:30  p.m.  on January 9th. Phelps will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Floyd Central is ranked 81st). As for Prestonsburg, they will head out on the road to face off against Paintsville at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
