The Yerington Lions will be playing at home against the Oasis Academy Bighorns at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Yerington has three straight wins, Oasis Academy has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Yerington scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 73-34 win over Coral Academy of Science - Reno on the road. Yerington has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 25 points or more this season.
Yerington can attribute much of their success to Naomie Screen, who scored 17 points along with five steals, and Laney Triplett, who scored 22 points along with nine steals and five rebounds. Screen continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlin Coulter, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Oasis Academy came up short against Sierra Lutheran on Saturday and fell 44-36. Oasis Academy has struggled against Sierra Lutheran recently, as their contest on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Yerington has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Oasis Academy, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-6.
