The Westlake Chaparrals scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Akins a 4-0 shutout. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Westlake hit Akins with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
William Fagerberg (2),
Sebastian Hiza, and
Logan Thomson.
Westlake's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those five matchups. As for Akins, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-2.
Coincidentally, Westlake and Akins will both be playing Lake Travis the next time they take the pitch. Akins will host Lake Travis at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, while Westlake will head out to face them at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
