The Walsh Eagles were the 37-28 winner over the Rolla Pirates when they last played one another back in February of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Walsh fell just short of Rolla by a score of 34-32.
Despite the loss, Walsh had strong showings from Maribel Carrillo, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds, and Kayla Penick, who scored 11 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rolla to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brynlee Williams, who scored 4 points along with 10 rebounds.
Walsh's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Rolla, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Walsh will look to defend their home court on Friday against Kim/Branson at 4:00 p.m. As for Rolla, they will head out on the road to face off against Minneola at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Minneola focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
