Glen Lake is 10-0 against Leland since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Glen Lake Lakers will head out on the road to take on the Leland Comets at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Glen Lake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Wednesday.
Glen Lake unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak. They fell just short of Kingsley by a score of 53-51.
Despite the loss, Glen Lake got a solid performance out of Jessie Pugh, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pugh has scored all season. Eleanor Valkner was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Leland was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 58-53 to Onekama.
Glen Lake's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5. As for Leland, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Everything went Glen Lake's way against Leland in their previous matchup back in January as Glen Lake made off with a 50-29 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Glen Lake since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
