The Crossroads Christian Academy Crusaders lost against the Faith Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Crossroads Christian Academy ended up on the wrong side of a tough 56-34 walloping at the hands of the Crusaders. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Crossroads Christian Academy in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Crossroads Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Molly Fitzgerald scored 14 points. That was a full 41.2% of Crossroads Christian Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lizzy Smith, who scored eight points.
Leading Faith Baptist Christian Academy to victory were Emree Mattingly and Aimee Massey. Mattingly dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals, while Massey dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Mattingly scored 15 or more points. Mary Weaver was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Crossroads Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Faith Baptist Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crossroads Christian Academy will face off against the Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bible Baptist Christian is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Faith Baptist Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Coastal HomeSchool focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday.
