The St. John's S Saints lost against the Shenandoah Valley Academy Stars on January 3rd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. St. John's S was outmatched by Shenandoah Valley Academy on the road and fell 103-53. St. John's S was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-24.
It was another big night for Emmanuel Matagaro, who scored 33 points along with seven rebounds and five steals for Shenandoah Valley Academy. That's the first time this season that Matagaro scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Browne, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
St. John's S's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Shenandoah Valley Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
St. John's S will be playing in front of their home fans against Northern Virginia HomeSchool at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Shenandoah Valley Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Highland View Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
