The East Jefferson Warriors will head out on the road to  take on  the Belle Chasse Cardinals  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
 While Warriors fans will have to keep waiting for their  squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's  season opener. They were the clear victor by  a  21-0 margin over Livonia on Friday. The  win was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
  Paul Jones went supernova for East Jefferson, rushing for 194 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.  Jayden Obiekwe handled things on the ground, rushing for 107 yards.
 East Jefferson wouldn't let Livonia keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. East Jefferson can thank  Drew Poche and  Dorrion Hollins for forcing both of them. Poche is also on a roll when it comes to  total tackles, as he's  now  made five or more in the last 11 games he's  played dating back to last season.
 Meanwhile, Belle Chasse  took care of business in their home opener  on Friday (and then some). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Eleanor McMain 55-0 at home. Given the Cardinals' advantage  in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings  (they are ranked 71st, while the Mustangs are ranked 302nd), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 East Jefferson came out on top in a nail-biter against Belle Chasse when the teams last played  back in September of 2016, sneaking past  23-20. Will East Jefferson repeat their success,  or does  Belle Chasse have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
