Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lafayette). They blew past the Clarksdale Wildcats 15-5 on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 last Tuesday.
Levi Hamm made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Brett Williams looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
