The Perry Ramblers will venture away from home to square off against the Dansville Aggies at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Perry's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Dansville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
While Perry's victory against Webberville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Ramblers never let the Spartans get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Ramblers in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won five in a row.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dansville). They blew past Morrice 21-0 on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Aggies sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Maddi Carter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and one double. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bree Delano, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaelee Foreman, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
Dansville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive games.
Dansville pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Perry, their record is now 7-2.
Perry suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Dansville in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Ramblers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
