The East Central HomeSchool Patriots fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Ezekiel Academy Knights on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 87-85. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Monday (60), East Central HomeSchool still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, East Central HomeSchool still got an impressive performance from Greyson Boyd, who scored 33 points along with two steals. That was a full 38.8% of East Central HomeSchool's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Anthony Knetter was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
East Central HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Ezekiel Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-16.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Central HomeSchool won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southern Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Southern Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 416th, while East Central HomeSchool is ranked 191st). As for Ezekiel Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Success Unlimited Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
