The Denton Broncos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 51-35 fall against Ryan. While losing is never fun, Denton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while the Raiders are ranked 68th).
Several Broncos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chase Thomas, who scored six points along with two steals. Thomas has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Hayden Gunter was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Denton's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 12-19. As for Ryan, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Denton will stay at home for another game and welcome the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Ryan will take on the Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
