Basketball Recap: Neumann Regional Academy Takes a Loss

Neumann Regional Academy was the 61-59 winner over Bucktail when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Neumann Regional Academy Golden Knights took a 67-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bucktail Bucks on Wednesday. While the Golden Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bucks 20-12 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Neumann Regional Academy still got an impressive performance from Daiton Thompson, who posted 23 points. Thompson's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gino Birch, who earned nine points.

Neumann Regional Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Bucktail, their record now sits at 6-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Neumann Regional Academy will square off against South Williamsport at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Neumann Regional Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.1 points per game this season. As for Bucktail, they will take on Montgomery at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th.
