After a string of six wins, the Posen Vikings's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 77-57 walloping at the hands of Hillman. Posen has struggled against the Tigers recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Hillman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trenton Taratuta, who dropped a triple-double on 21 points, 17 rebounds, and 13 assists. Taratuta is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last 11 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenden Rouleau, who scored 26 points.
Posen's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6. As for Hillman, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Posen's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Atlanta comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Hillman, they will be playing at home against the Wolverines at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Au Gres-Sims will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 736th, while the Tigers are ranked 253rd).
