After flying high against the Cross Keys Indians last Friday, The Creekside Christian Academy Cougars came back down to earth. Creekside Christian Academy received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 53-34 to The King's Academy. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Despite the loss, Creekside Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Malcolm Courtland, who threw for 191 yards and three touchdowns.
The King's Academy found their leader in underclassman Jaxon Bone, who rushed for 251 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Bone was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. Jimmy Anderson got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Creekside Christian Academy's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.7 points per game. As for The King's Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Creekside Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. The King's Academy will be playing at home against Lanier Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lanier Christian Academy is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
