The Southeast Halifax Trojans's eight-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They blew past Rocky Mount Prep 51-26. The win was just what Southeast Halifax needed coming off of a 59-37 loss in their prior match.
Southeast Halifax got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kemorriya Evans out in front who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Evans has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Myrecle Harrison, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
Southeast Halifax's victory bumped their record up to 2-12. As for Rocky Mount Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeast Halifax will take on Northwest Halifax at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest Halifax presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southeast Halifax in North Carolina (Northwest Halifax is ranked 256th, while Southeast Halifax is ranked 598th). As for Rocky Mount Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against KIPP P at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
