The Beatrice Orangemen have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 24 points or more this season. They breezed by O'Neill on the road to the tune of 67-37. Beatrice's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Despite the defeat, O'Neill had strong showings from Olivia Young, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds, and Lauryn Dusatko, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Beatrice pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for O'Neill, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Beatrice will head out on the road to face off against Seward on Friday. O'Neill will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ainsworth at 6:00 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
